Computer Components of note at 2011 CES

When Apple Computer introduced their Ipad tablet computer, specialists and industry insiders raised predictions about Tablet PC's future. Many in the industry believe that tablet computers will replace the Desktop, Laptop, and Netbook in the coming years. In the mean time the laptop, the net book, and the mini pc are still selling strong. The forecast seems to be off, the netbook didn't replace the notebook. The laptop certainly didn't replace the workstation I am writing this site on. Specialized uses bring niche machines longer lifespan into crystal clear reality.

I respectfully disagree, but they say tablet PCs are coming. In the mean time, they aren't here just yet. I don't think they will eliminate the PC either. The computer hardware section of the Consumer Electronics Show is not going anywhere soon. In fact, the parts now available to the public are getting every stronger, faster, and reliable. This year the latest and greatest was obviously faster, and had more memory, but there were serious endurance and reliability standards applied to consumer electronics. The ASUS line of heavy duty mother boards, shown here, are an example of the Military Grade Computer components now available.
